The FoSTER project is a collaborative endeavor led by four Kent State University ecologists and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Background of the park, why we’re ultimately doing this, and what we hope to learn.
The project aims to understand several ecological processes in our restored areas in the park including soils (nutrient cycling, carbon sequestration, erosion, etc), plants (restored forest, something about resilience?), insect communities (community cycling in response to disturbance, services provided, etc), and hydrology (how hydrologic processes are affected by disturbance and lack of roots to help with erosion, etc).
